ELECTRONIC SORTERS

There have been tremendous strides in improving the efficiency and accuracy of electronic sorting.  Unfortunately, these developments have been concentrated on high capacities of 6,000-10,0000 pounds per hour and more. So careful attention has to be exercised to find the right machine for 500 to 4000 pounds per hour.  Basically, the kernels pass through a light sensitive zone.   The amount of reflection tell the machine which kernels to accept or reject.   Some processors have the resulting accepted peanuts visually inspected but others feel that the machine is more accurate than humans.
